2021 - 2024
Extension and renovation in North London.
We renovated this Victorian terrace house for a family with three young children, making a flexible, welcoming home with simple materials and natural finishes.
Supporting the family’s daily life, the extended ground floor is organised into distinct areas for cooking, eating and working, with a woodburner corner for quiet moments. Built-in storage, desk and window seat define particular places without dividing them.
Responding to the tightly managed budget, we built only what was necessary using readily available, low-impact materials. A pared-back palette reinforces the sense of calm: exposed timber structure, simple joinery, raw metal and natural tones chosen for durability and depth.
Full-height openings and large sliding doors connect directly to the garden, while glazed internal doors and high windows bring daylight into the centre of the house.
This is a low-carbon family home characterised by warmth, daylight and thoughtful use of materials, reflecting a quietly principled approach.
